We had the pleasure of taking part of a fabulous sweet 16 Birthday party last Saturday. These adorable girls put together their own fashion photo shoots for fun, and so Mom hired Mamarazzi to give them a professional shoot. We had a blast!

Sneak Peek: The "P" Family -- San Diego portrait photographers

October brings the start of our busy holiday season for family portraits. We started out the season with the fun & cute "P" family. This was a tough one to schedule. We have been trying since August, but with Dad being a pilot, things just kept popping up. We finally found a date that worked, and we made it happen. It was a busy day at Old Poway Park, but the kids were great, and the photos turned out beautiful...thanks "P" family!

A Traditional Wedding

Photographing a very traditional church wedding is such a beautiful experience. We get to see the interesting way that the church, and the family, coordinate to make a wedding dream come to life. We would like to present Jorge and Monica Perez. They were married on October 8th, 2011 at the gorgeous Mission Inn, and had their fun reception at Crestmore Manor. They had about 300 guests join them for a gorgeous event filled with all of the Spanish details that made their big day truly special.

A Military Wedding - Steve and Sarah

He's a pilot, she's a pediatrician, together they are an amazing couple. We had the pleasure of photographing their wedding at the Sheraton on Harbor Island, one of our favorite locations. From the dress uniforms, to the saber arch, this wedding was striking with all of its military traditions. We were honored to take part in such a beautiful display of love and honor. Mike and Mary's Gorgeous Wedding Day

Shawn enjoyed a day at the shores, capturing the wedding of Mike and Mary. They were hoping for blue skies and sun, but even though the sun decided not to make an appearance their day was just amazingly beautiful. The orange and white palette was so cheerful, who could even tell the sky was grey!?

We recently went to Balboa Park to shoot Valerie & Evan's engagement photos. What a beautiful couple. We led them through Balboa, and wow, what a lovely location that is! It took them a little time to get used to the camera, but we all had a good time with it (and came away with some awesome shots for them). Their wedding date is set for July 30th, and we can't wait. See you two real soon!

What is a photo party?
A photo party is a great way to get a bunch of your friends together to have some fun, and set aside a small amount of time for each family or group to get some great photos. We offer both outdoor photo parties, or indoor parties with our portable studio.

How a photo party works:

Reserve a date to host your party
Mamarazzi sets up an online party invitation and registration form for guests to reserve their spot
You invite the guests
Get a minimum of 5 guests to attend and your photos are free!

Pricing, Etc:

Indoor studio session for children's portraits (20 minute time slot): $75 per guest
Outdoor session for children or families up to 5 (25 minute time slot): $75 per guest
Fee includes photo session, an online slideshow to review all images, and a disc of your 10 favorite images, full-resolution, with complete rights to print as you wish
Options available to purchase additional images, or get all images from the session for just $25 extra

We had the pleasure of photographing a fun wedding two weeks ago on October 30th, 2010. The day started out grey and drizzly, not exactly the weather that brides & grooms hope for. The weatherman promised clear skies by 4pm, the start time for Tony & Amra's wedding. Thankfully the prediction could not have been more accurate. It turned out to be an absolutely beautiful day, with a gorgeous bride, dashing groom, and an amazing setting at The Sheraton Hotel on Harbor Island, pouring with a wealth of flowers. Mr & Mrs Arzu said "I do" in front of a large group, with family in town from all over the country to share in their special day.

Amy & Sam, Married!

It was a gorgeous day at the Encinitas Ranch golf course on October 10th, 2010. Sam & Amy, along with their adorable one year old little girl, Lily, said their vows in front of all of their closest family & friends. Here is a sneak peek at some of the memories of the day. Hi Everybody, its Tricia.

As many of you have heard, I broke my heel last year during our annual Help Patrick Walk fundraiser. I was in the midst of a photoshoot with a beautiful couple, Patrick's uncle and his fiance, showing them just how to pose....hanging from a train car.. that's right.. a train car. You won't believe this, but I slipped off. Okay, so if you know me, you knew that would happen. Well, I landed right on a railroad tie and broke my heel, the hardest bone in your body to break, at least that's what the doctors told me. It took eight weeks in a cast to heal, and thankfully didn't require any surgery or therapy.

But, back to this beautiful couple. Can you imagine? Watching your photographer/stunt person fall and seriously injure herself? It was awful, and super embarrassing for me, but how awkward (yet funny) for them. They were amazing though! They ran and found me some ice, then stayed with me until my superhero husband came and carried me to the car, then helped to finish the last two photo shoots for me.

I finally had a chance, after a couple of reschedules, to repay this couple by doing an unlimited photoshoot all around Balboa Park. We had such a good time. They really are great people, and oh so forgiving.

We had the honor of photographing a gorgeous wedding at the Sheraton on Harbor Island a couple of weekends ago. After a long week of June gloom, the sun joined us for a great event. An ugly day turned pretty

Last Sunday we went out to Oceanside for our most recent Senior portrait session. We were there the week before and it was gorgeous - sunny skies, very few people, and clean water under the pier. This was not the case this time, the skies were as grey as could be, it was freezing cold, there were people everywhere, and some disgusting odd black muck was gushing out of a pipe, causing black water under the pier that we had hoped to use in our pictures. We considered rescheduling for a moment, but then decided we could make it work, and look at these gorgeous results! You would never know the gloomy conditions by looking at the resulting pictures.

Haiti Fundraiser Video

Mamarazzi is proud to have given to the orphans in Haiti, through Danita's Children. We teamed up with Photographers for Haiti, and hosted a photo day, where all of the proceeds went directly to Danita's Children. Jumping for Joy!

The theme this week at I Heart Faces is "Jump for Joy", and that is exactly what this image says to us. It is from a photo session during the holiday season. This cute little guy kept asking if it was time for the "fun stuff", and after posing patiently for all the photos we asked him for he set off to jump, and boy did he ever. He FLEW right over that bush below him, and paused mid-air to look at the camera, just as requested. He is going to be a star athlete some day for sure!

I heart faces is having another contest, and we are totally sucked in, so of course we are entering!

Stacey took this picture of Sydney on a dry, sunny afternoon. You know us Southern California girls have to have umbrellas even when it rains only about 3 times a year. We experimented with various textures until we came up with just the right style we were looking for.

Mamarazzi just heard about an incredibly cool way to share a favorite picture! I Heart Faces has a contest right now called "Best Face Photo", seems like a fun idea, so we thought we'd join the fun!

Here is a picture of the littlest one between our two families. Tricia gets credit for the baby, Stacey gets credit for the outfit. We took lil' Miss Carleigh to the park to get some pictures with her buddy, and unfortunately neither were up for the gig. Carleigh was mid laugh.... and then meltdown!

Successful Fundraiser!

We are thrilled to share the results of a very successful Mamarazzi fundraiser event! We partnered up with the Help Patrick Walk organization in November to host a family portrait fundraiser day. We were overwhelmed with the response we got! We filled up the entire day, and captured a ton of great portraits for all of these amazing families. It was so great to meet all of these generous people - friends of Patrick's family, Patrick's neighbors, those who follow Patrick's story in the Scripps Newsletter, others who just liked his story and wanted to help, and Patrick himself!

Here are just a few photos to show a brief summary of the day. All of these families also got holiday cards as part of their session purchase. It was a great way for all of them to help out an amazing young boy, as well as knock out a holiday task!

David & Robyn's Wedding

We had the pleasure of photographing David & Robyn's beautiful wedding on Sunday, July 12th. They had a small and intimate ceremony at beautiful Calumet Park in La Jolla with all of their closest family and friends, followed by a shuttle ride to the Marine Room and a fabulous cocktail reception. The bride was absolutely beautiful, and David & Robyn were so much fun, we enjoyed every minute as did all of their guests. We are excited to share a sample of some of the photos we were able to capture.

Newborn Hospital Photoshoots

Mamarazzi is proud to offer newborn portraits, as well as in hospital shoots the day of, or day after your baby is born. One photographer will come to your hospital room, bringing all she needs, including a nice soft blanket, and take some adorable shots of your newest addition. We pride ourselves on being non-intrusive, and very capable of handling newborns. Here are some pictures of the last hospital shoot we did just recently for the Henson family:

After the Henson family was released from the hospital we had them over to our studio and did some nice family portraits as well. Baby Xander was so cooperative!

Our First Photo Party

Mamarazzi has hosted its first Photo Party! We had a blast at the Crilly House, with 5 of Megan Crilly’s close friends. They came over and had some refreshments, the kids had a chance to relax in a home setting, and all the while we were able to capture some amazing pictures of all the children who came! Megan hosted a great party, and since she had 5 friends attend she received her shoot completely free!

Baby Samantha is 1!

It is so hard to believe that a full year has passed since we did Baby Samantha’s newborn photos!
Here she is as a teeny tiny baby:

She has grown into such a happy and fun toddler, and we were so excited to be able to do her one year old pictures as well as create her own personal Birthday party invitation. We went out with Mom and Samantha to a local park and were able to capture some fun and adorable photos. As soon as Mom would start to sing Samantha would light up and start to clap and cheer, and we were able to capture the perfect photos for her invitation.
